Woohyun To Replace Sunggyu As Leader Of INFINITE During Army Enlistment in 2017?
In Sunggyu’s 2017 Season’s Greeting Interview he stated, that INFINITE will have a new leader this year.
He said in the interview, that he will be passing his leader position to his co-member Woohyun in 2017th. It is rumored, that the reason behind his statement is that he will be enlisting in the army this year.

However, it’s not all just rumors and speculations. Sunggyu stated during a TV show “Girl Spirit”, that he will be enlisting very soon. Infinite member gave a speech to soldiers in the audience and thanked them for their brave service and added that he will take their place very soon.
While he’s in the army Woohyun will be the one in charge of their group for the mean time.
Sungkyu also said this in his 2017 Season’s Greeting Interview,
“At the moment, it feels like dad left home. I think there’s no dad. I think there’s no mom either. Mom also could have left home. I’m feeling as a youngest child. I made a decision to give leadership to Woohyun in the coming year. Let him be the eldest.”
Sunggyu has this role of a father to his group, when he is around, but when he isn’t INFINITE might fall into chaos.
Their fandom INSPIRITs will surely miss Sunggyu, but can’t wait to see Woohyun as the leader of the group for the mean time.
Meanwhile Infinite have been postponing their comeback due to Sunggyu’s and Sungjong’s recent traumas.
Also their contracts with Woollim Entertainment have come to an end on June, 2017 and they are in the middle of negotiating the terms.
