Their most recent Japanese album, STAY GOLD, dropped back in October and reached number 3 on Japan’s Oricon weekly album charts and on Billboard’s Japan Hot Albums. The band also sold out a six-city tour of Japan this past fall.
CNBLUE held a fan meeting to celebrate with fans
The four-man band, consisting of Yonghwa, Jonghyun, Minhyuk, and Jungshin, had a fanmeet, TRACK 8: JUST PLEASE HOLD MY HAND, in Seoul last weekend to celebrate their eighth anniversary where they performed many of their songs from their eight-year career. Band members also revealed their influence on budding young musicians. According to one fan account, “Yonghwa said there’s a lot of young boys who tell him and other members that CNBLUE inspired them to learn how to play an instrument” .
The band also related something that happens to them now that they’re a senior group. Lee Jonghyun said “Current idols will shake when they see CNBLUE.” Yonghwa said that sometimes he doesn’t want to go to the bathroom because he doesn’t like walking around the hallways. He said that he feels like he’s making the current idols uncomfortable with his presence. (All fanmeet translations: @gkboice)
Fans start a hashtag party to congratulate the group
