The Kings of the Billboard Social 50 chart BTS have gained reign again

BTS became second artists with the most weeks spent at number 1 on Billboard Social 50 chart. They have gained back the top spot on the chart this week, knocking off Ariana Grande.

This means BTS have held the number 1 spot for 29 weeks overall, beating Taylor Swift’s 28 week streak. Justin Bieber currently holds the top spot, spending 161 weeks at number 1.

Bangtan Boys are Number 1 on Billboard Social 50 Chart

BTS 방탄소년단 (Bangtan Boys) first began to top the Social 50 chart back in October.

Following the release of Wings the group began to get recognized more in America. Their hit title track Blood, Sweet and Tears gained lots of attention across the globe. It has millions of hits on Youtube. 

BTS then released their repackage album Wings: You Never Walk Alone. It topped many charts worldwide. The group gained even more attention for their video Not Today.

BTS were nominated for one of the biggest award shows – Billboard Music Awards.

Korean boy group then got nominated for the Top Social Artist award. Alongside Justin Bieber, who has won the award since it was created, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Shawn Mendes. 

BTS fans tweeted to Billboard Chart account for the group to appear at the award show. ARMYs created a hashtag just for the boys.

Due to the overwhelming votes of over 300 mln, BTS were invited to the Billboard Music Awards.

The first K-Pop group to be invited to Billboard Music Awards. Thanks to their fandom A.R.M.Y, voting tirelessly from across the world.

BTS appeared at the award show and went on to win the Top Social Artist Award. They earned a huge pop from the crowd. Many fans waited in line all night just to see them.

The group gained many more new fans throughout the weeks. Many American artists have hinted at future collaboration. Such as The Chainsmokers, Halsey and Steve Aoki. 

BTS have also won many awards from across the world. The Shorty Awards, where they won in the music category, which is based on social networking. Also a few years ago they won MTV Europe Music Awards. 

BTS have recently finished the American leg of their 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: Wings Tour.

Furthermore, North American leg of 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: Wings Tour sold out completely throughout three states – Chicago, New York and California.

Most of the tickets sold out within 3 minutes. More additional dates were added due to the growing demand. BTS is gaining more attention internationally and is slowly becoming the face of K-Pop.
